Day One – Hawaii Player Advances in Qualifying Draw of TCOM

Honolulu, Hawaii, January 22, 2017– Day one of the 2017 SportMaster Tennis Championships of Maui at the Royal Lahaina Resort. The tournament started this morning with a qualifying singles draw. A total of seven players in the draw have Hawaii ties. Juan Erro, Jack Lyttle, and Jakub Hadrava of Hawaii Pacific University, Igor Kolaric and Felix Albert of the University of Hawaii, and Maui locals, Casun Mays and Kento Tanaka-Tamaki all competed.

Out of the seven, Juan Erro was the only qualifier to advance to the next round with a win over Casun Mays, 6-3, 6-1. He will now face the top seed in the qualifying draw, Zhe Li (CHN).
